LOL. NO ONE IS LAUGHING.

The financial state of our State is grim. Instead of a responsible and comprehensive budget, we have received a stop-gap spending plan that’s not nearly enough to make it through this year, let alone address the key needs of our State.
The Land of Lincoln and its citizens are suffering.

It doesn’t matter if you’re downstate or in Chicago, a student or a social service worker; we all have something in common:
Not having a budget is not a laughing matter.
Springfield has stopped listening to Illinois citizens. We must
make enough noise that they won’t have a choice but to hear us.

LOL ILLINOIS INTENDS TO DO JUST THAT.

We are sharing the stories that define the impact of the stalemate. We want to be so loud that our message becomes inescapable. Everyone has a story to tell. Even if you’re not sure how you’ve been affected, you can still join the movement. Let’s make sure that all of our voices are heard.

Together, we can force our leaders in Springfield to do the jobs we elected them to do.

Let’s send a strong message that it’s time to act on a
responsible, balanced budget.

THIS IS NOT A LAUGHING MATTER.

LOL Illinois MISSION STATEMENT

We are facing a financial crisis like never before and the people of Illinois deserve better. We need a responsible, balanced budget that will put the Land of Lincoln back on sound financial footing. Everyone can identify with what’s happening in our state. Everyone has a story to tell. LOL Illinois is the platform for the people of our State to tell their stories and make our voices heard. Together, we can make enough noise and push Springfield to act. It’s time to put the pressure on.

This is not a laughing matter.

The Civic Committee created LOL Illinois to put pressure on our State’s leadership to act on a responsible, balanced budget – one that adequately promotes the continued economic growth of the State of Illinois and supports the welfare of its citizens. Illinois citizens may have different positions on the particulars of a budget, but we can all agree on the necessity of having a budget.
